"Getting Started: Traveling Through the Dark"

I watched the video, "Traveling Through the Dark" on the Getting Started Strand of the K-12 online conference. I thought this video was very good and cleverly made. I liked how the creator put quotes in his video and how he started it off with him actually driving in the dark. This video was informative to me because Steven, the creator of the video, told a story from his experience with teaching. He said that he could not get through to his students and it was not a problem with his students, but a problem with himself. He also talked about integrating technology into the classroom and gave a lot of good ideas about how a teacher can do that. Some of his ideas were things that we have already covered in this class and I think his story will help me when I become a teacher so I will be a better teacher.

  1. You know the purpose of this video was to inspire others to change, not just because of test scores, but to meet the needs of our everchanging students. Therefore, I truly hope that as you move into a classroom that this has in some way helped you. I am quite humbled by such a comment.

    Thanks for viewing!

  2. I also liked how Steven admitted to everyone that he was having trouble connecting with his students. It takes a lot to admit that to yourself, let alone a bunch of others.
